Mentor Session

Join us on Thursday, July 16th, 2026 at 7:00 pm EST for Animal Positive Coalition’s Virtual Mentor Session

Mentor Sessions are online group gatherings rooted in continuing education and sharing experiences. Each month there will be a new topic for discussion and we will be inviting members of APC with expertise in the topic to help share their insights and experiences, and to guide the conversation. These sessions are designed to feel more collaborative rather than be a formal presentation. They can also be a place to get guidance on specific cases and challenges you are working through in your animal training career. Group participation is what fuels these sessions, and we open the call for input from those who attend. These sessions will be recorded (some portions may not be) and added to our content library for those who cannot attend/future reference.

This Month: TTouch as an Adjunct Methodology in Behavior Cases w/Laura Heyer & Pam

Join us for a session on using TTouch as an adjunct methodology in working with dog behavior challenges. Participants are encouraged to submit case studies involving fear, reactivity, or puppy/adolescent behavior. We will discuss how we might incorporate various of the TTouch modalities, using easy to learn techniques that can be implemented quickly without complex plans or significant skill practice.

Laura Heyer is a force-free dog trainer, TTouch Practitioner and human educator whose work has always focused on meeting learners where they are and helping them make progress towards their goals. She often incorporates TTouch into her training plans. Laura holds her M.Ed. KPA-CTP, TTouch CA1 and CSAP-BC credentials.

Pam Wanveer, BS.Ed, is an Advanced Companion Animal and Equine TTouch Practitioner with 30 years experience and a Cranial Sacral Practitioner with 20 years experience. She works to help animals feel comfortable, safe and confident so they are more present and better able to cooperate and learn. Pam uses TTouch as a communication tool to bridge animal/human communication gaps to help unwind fear and build trust.

We Need Your Case Studies!

Because these sessions are fueled by group participation, APC is looking for your case suggestions! If you are working or have worked a case involving fear, reactivity, or puppy/adolescent behavior that you would like to discuss or receive feedback on, we encourage you to fill out the form below!
