Mentor Session

Join us on Wednesday, January 21st, 2026 at 6:30pm EST for Animal Positive Coalition’s Virtual Mentor Session

Mentor Sessions are online group gatherings rooted in continuing education and sharing experiences. Each month there will be a new topic for discussion and we will be inviting members of APC with expertise in the topic to help share their insights and experiences, and to guide the conversation. These sessions are designed to feel more collaborative rather than be a formal presentation. They can also be a place to get guidance on specific cases and challenges you are working through in your animal training career. Group participation is what fuels these sessions, and we open the call for input from those who attend. These sessions will be recorded (some portions may not be) and added to our content library for those who cannot attend/future reference.

This Month’s Topic: Inter-Dog/Household Aggression

We are excited for Tanzi Leary, owner/founder of Dog Crazy Lady to be our group expert for this mentor session.

Tanzi Leary (she/her/hers) is an award-winning dog trainer & behavior consultant recommended by 30+ Baltimore metro-area veterinary clinics and veterinary behaviorists, as well as many shelters, rescues, and colleagues in multiple surrounding states for over a decade. She is particularly sought after for helping dogs feel safer in the world, including helping families address conflict between dogs and people, dogs and other dogs, dogs and cats, and even dogs and pigs.

Tanzi is a Cornell graduate and has worked with 1000+ people and dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, energy levels, and abilities since 2012. She is a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC) through the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, a Pat Miller Certified Trainer (PMCT1), and a Certified Separation Anxiety Pro - Behavior Consultant (CSAP-BC).

Her techniques are based on setting dogs (and people) up for success and on training using the least-inhibitive, functionally effective (LIFE) training model. She is more interested in helping people and their dogs live harmoniously together than in training skills that don't serve a useful purpose.

We Need Your Case Studies!

Because these sessions are fueled by group participation, APC is looking for your case suggestions! If you are working or have worked a case involving household dog-dog aggression that you would like to discuss or receive feedback on, we encourage you to fill out the form below!
